Work/Life Balance Workshop

On April 8th WPS had a Work/Life workshop presented by Nancy Wayne! Nancy had a great background, having it in her heart to help people with life talks and being able to transform that into a career. She brought up many good points about how to prioritize, certain lab safety concerns, and when to have a baby! Surprise, surprise, but it made sense for women in physical sciences. It was a very open space to talk about these things, and Nancy shared many of her personal experiences and of those of her colleges that were unique. We should, as women, take this into account when thinking of our career or grad school. Nancy also showed us how to use a priority matrix to maintain work/life balance. Overall, creating a space to talk about potential family was refreshing, new, and something I recommend everyone get the chance to do before graduation. We thank Nancy and everyone for coming and feasting with us!
